Notify for AI agents: send-only email API
Agents need to send password resets and receipts from your product domain — not read personal Gmail. Notify is one HTTPS send endpoint, official notifycx-mcp for IDE sessions, and bootstrap APIs when there is no dashboard.
Send pipe vs inbox
Product email must come from your verified domain with logs and webhooks you control. Built-in agent mail is a different trust boundary — fine for the agent, wrong for your users’ reset links.
notifycx-mcp
Domains, DNS, send, logs in Cursor. /mcp
Bootstrap API
OTP → api_key without dashboard. Agent bootstrap doc
HTTPS send
Same POST /api/email/send for n8n, Actions, and app code.
Best for
Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT Actions, Lovable backends, and automation that deliver transactional mail from your app.
Not for
Personal agent inboxes, newsletters, or marketing automation suites.
Frequently asked questions
Is Notify an agent inbox?
No. Notify is a send-only transactional API from your verified domain. Agent inboxes (Grok mail, Muse Gmail, etc.) are for the agent’s mailbox — not product password resets or receipts.
How do coding agents send with Notify?
In the IDE, connect notifycx-mcp with NOTIFY_API_KEY. In cloud agents, use HTTPS POST /api/email/send with x-api-key, or bootstrap an API key via /api/agent/bootstrap/start and /confirm without opening the dashboard.
What is agent bootstrap?
Email OTP signup or recovery that returns a one-time api_key, then domain DNS records and send — documented at /docs/agent-bootstrap-no-dashboard and in OpenAPI.
Should my shipped app use MCP?
No. Production code should use the notifycx SDK or fetch. MCP is for setup, domains, and tests during a coding session.
How much does Notify cost for agents?
Free 1,000 emails/mo, Pro $10/10k, Scale $50/100k (as of Nov 2026). Same pricing whether the caller is an agent or your app. At ~50k/mo other managed APIs list lower than Scale — see /blog/cheapest-email-api-for-side-projects-2026.
